3M wool & foam compounding pads

Wool compounding pads are the best for removing any wax or sealants and should be used at the beginning of any polishing process. Not only do they build up less heat, but they can also be used for extended periods and cope well with that added pressure. They’re quicker and much more efficient if you want that deeper cut into the finish. 

Foam pads are specifically designed to refine, polish, and sand those minor scratches out of any paintwork. They’re far gentler than wool compounding pads and should be used at the final polishing stages. 

Remember, different pads' colours correspond to their usage because they have very different cleaning applications. Generally, the darker colours are used in stripping, whereas the lighter pads are used for polishing.
