Protect your air compressor and keep it running smoothly with our range of specialist compressor oils.

These specially-formulated mineral oils from Jamec-Pem and Gulf Western contain oxide inhibiting compounds that help to extend the lifespan of your air compressor.

Compressor oil is also designed to be stable and will continue to protect your compressor’s internals even when under heavy load for extended periods.

You can use air compressor oil in many types of low-pressure screw compressors, rotary vane, reciprocating and piston compressor types.

How to change the oil in your air compressor

Before changing your air compressor oil, always read the instruction manual to ensure you follow the correct steps for your specific model. The general process is as follows.

First, unplug the compressor from its power source and drain the old oil. This usually requires removing a fastener from the oil reserve. You might choose to do this after the compressor has been recently used, so the oil is warm and flows more easily, but do not drain the oil directly after use or when the compressor is still hot.

Once the old oil is drained, reattach the drain fastener, and use a funnel to add the new compressor oil. There is often a dip stick in the top of the oil reserve which displays the current oil level. It’s better to add small amounts of oil at a time than to add too much oil at once and overfill the chamber, which would then require another draining.

Remember to always use proper air compressor oil, as engine oils and other common lubricants can contain additional chemicals that can foam up or cause carbon build ups that could damage the internal components of your compressor.
